General Information

In gaming communities on Discord, a “Leave of Absence” (LOA) typically refers to a temporary period during which a community member will be inactive or unavailable to participate in the community or games. Here’s how a Leave of Absence is commonly understood in gaming communities on Discord:

Leave of Absence (LOA):
A Leave of Absence is a formal way for community members to inform their fellow gamers or community leaders that they will be taking a break from gaming or participating in the Discord community for a specific period.
This could be due to various reasons such as personal commitments, work or school responsibilities, health issues, or other real-life circumstances that require their attention.
When a member announces an LOA, it is a way to communicate to the community that they will not be active for a certain duration and that they may not be available to play games, participate in events, or engage in discussions during that time.
It helps to manage expectations and avoid confusion among other community members who might wonder why the person is suddenly inactive.

Purpose:
LOAs are important in gaming communities on Discord as they help maintain transparency and communication within the community.
By announcing a Leave of Absence, members can prevent misunderstandings or assumptions about their sudden absence.
It also allows community leaders or moderators to make necessary arrangements, such as finding substitutes for team-based games or events, adjusting roles, or understanding the reasons behind the absence.

Process:
Typically, a community member will post a message in the Discord server’s designated channel (such as loa logs) to inform others about their LOA.
The message may include the reason for the absence, the expected duration of the break, and any relevant details that others need to know.
Community leaders or moderators may also have specific guidelines or procedures for requesting and announcing Leaves of Absence within their gaming community.

Staff and Leadership Positions:
For Staff and leaders on LOA, you will be placed in an LOA role and have your staff/leadership role taken for the meantime while you are on loa to help you not worry about things that need to be taken care of, other individuals will fill in for you.
If you are in a position of voting, your votes will be nulled as you will not have access to the channels at the time of your LOA.

Overall, in gaming communities on Discord, a Leave of Absence is a way for members to communicate their temporary absence and manage expectations within the community. It promotes transparency, understanding, and helps maintain a positive and supportive environment for all members.

To include towards our meaning from old civilization- ronin’s are a type of samurai who had no lord or master and in some cases, had also severed all links with his family or clan. A samurai becomes a rōnin upon the death of his master, or after the loss of his master’s favor or legal privilege.

Our Mantra is to give recognition to the struggle of isolation from society and give reason to the meaning of a second home or home away from home.
